I don't think this is going to happen. Maybe it was a bad idea?
I'm sorry for pushing you all into this and not doing enough to help.
EDIT: See comments below; we've been feeling overwhelmed because it seemed to us that we have to do all the work or something, and we doubted that anyone was actually interested. ^^; Even though it seemed like we had some good discussions going.
Please comment or PM to let us know if you're still interested, and if so, what we can do to help make participating easier for you.

At the moment, I'm in a hotel room, halfway across the country from home for hopefully my last business trip of this year. Handwriting out notes for Ilaria to type up later - I don't really like writing up a lot of rp stuff on my work laptop^^;; Some people tote along two laptops, but I'm saving that one for when I have a PA to carry them for me.... By which I mean, I guess never.

We've been kind of overwhelmed with ... not sure what to do for this game or how much we need to write for it, and managing or being in several others besides. >_< Trying to plan and develop game systems and things ...
I guess let us know, maybe, when you're ready ^^;

The most important question is whether running the game is still the right thing for you right now; you need to look after yourself first and foremost.
I'll be getting home tomorrow (me = tired of cold hotel rooms) and get back into rping mode. If only there were a button for that, it would be so much more seamless;)

I am sorry I have been unhelpful recently. I have been using most of my time and energy to look after myself.

We recognize your need for self-care as legitimate >_>b and are open to suggestions for how we can make things easier

I appreciate the concern. Thanks.
I find it easiest to deal with when I have really clear expectations of what they want and how they'll react. So… maybe be more explicit about what you want and how you're feeling? And feel free to contact me even when I'm not reciprocating.
About RP progress:
I feel like we're having communication issues. I'm not sure when I could or should be talking to people, but we don't seem to be talking much as a group and co-operative set-up seems to be pretty vital in the way the Fate system works.
I'm not sure if that is the main issue that you're trying to solve/ work around. If it is an issue:
Personally, I'd try to solve this by asking people to discuss on a platform that is not very threaded, so people are encouraged to read through everyone's contributions, and keep a shared access document with agreed-upon game details.
However, if you find people easier than tech, you could arrange times when all the group would pay attention and preferably contribute. Or split off players into twos or threes and ask them to work on an area and bring back their joint conclusions.
Also, I don't know how much this is true for other people, but I'm having a hard time getting my head around the setting. I don't know the games you're basing it on, so I am finding it really hard to guess what sort of themes/ approaches/ details are appropriate to the setting. I'm not sure what sort of story we're trying to tell.

Um, are you suggesting we use Google Docs or a shared wiki or something? That actually might be a good idea ... at least for individual character sheets, possibly more. I'm currently trying to archive everything useful in the stickied post here on Dreamwidth.
Right now, I think we've basically decided on setting and theme and stuff in the discussion thread earlier, and all we need from you and the other players is to decide what your character sheets look like. We were trying to do a thread for each person, but we kind of ran out of steam when no one seemed interested or to know how to proceed. ^^;
We're very sorry for the miscommunication, and think we may have been misinterpreting a general lack of confidence (and/or busyness) as a lack of interest in the game.
I think what might help most for this stage is if we could communicate one on one with each player in a chat of some kind? Like Skype, Google Hangouts, AIM, or whatever is most convenient. We could work out the details for each character that way.
As far as the setting and themes, I think what we settled on for this introductory story is some sort of cross between Contact, Seaquest, and Event Horizon. It will take place only a couple of hundred years from now, and not in any particular sci-fi game's timeline, so feel free to invent or suggest absolutely anything to add to the game.
The themes being explored so far include ... um ...
* Hard-ish sci-fi related to space travel within the solar system
* Ecology / environmental awareness / acceptance of diversity; the disasters caused by global climate change forced humans, AIs, and the world's cetaceans to unite
* Some "cyberpunk" themes with AIs and neural interfaces, but with more of a shiny and less dystopian feel
* Space / underwater-themed horror, as the player characters find what lurks on Enceladus
And then an awakening or rebirth of sorts, in the very far future.
Your input or suggestions for any of this are very welcome. For your character, for how to explore the themes, for new themes to explore, for what kinds of technology to portray and how ...
Please let us know if you'd like to try chat, or if you'd like to continue asking questions / resolving concerns / making a character here.

Whether to make this process easier for you, or otherwise.

Provided you're good to go too. ^^ (And yeah - I see the above note.)
Actually I have a question about game structure, but I will toddle off and make a character thread for Rai, to keep this one uncluttered.

I think we're ready, we're just lacking in confidence ... and interpreting others' lack of confidence as disinterest. ^^; Plus we kind of had trouble keeping things moving forward when we had to, y'know, move ...

As for my own lack of time... well, the JLPT is done now, as are the craft swaps, so I should have a little more freedom in the coming couple of weeks. \o/

I tried borrowing your sheet format for the character thread, but it's blank right now.
The comment on that post is a question for you, and is the biggest thing stopping me right now. I don't know what version of him to build - or whether I should do some of both.
(no subject)
I think *Ascension is largely a posthumous character, and the new version of him might be sort of a "player-controlled NPC" since he has to stay back with the ship. So, probably what you can do is just fill the sheet out for Rai, and then pick like one of his aspects and three of his skills to say that *Ascension has them.
If that seems doable?
