Hm. I'm thinking that the hardware may be fine, or minimally damaged - the problem is memory corruption (which happens in real-world systems on perfectly intact hardware all the time).
Which makes Rai a perfectly functional Shadowrun-style saboteur, but not so functional ship-AI. :)
